Wednesday 26 October 2011 - Filed under Game Reviews

About 15 years ago, Mario Bros was all of the craze. Hundreds of millions of Marios and Luigis were running around living rooms blast through levels searching for the ever evasive Peach. Although the concept and goals remained the same, many of the features and general feel of the original Mario Bros was lost in time. Super Mario Wii has done a good job of bringing back a classic game that will bring back your memories all in the form of Super Mario Wii.

If you grew up playing Super Mario Bros, you will certainly love Super Mario Wii. Super Mario Wii brings back many elements of the original Mario Bros, while addinng 2D and 3D elements that refreshes all of the old places; you know the ones! Remember swimming through water worlds avoiding jellyfish? Well, you can do it again with Super Mario Wii! However, you should be advised that the worlds may be slightly more challenging with Super Mario Wii. While Super Mario Wii elegantly adds in 3D elements, that also means that game play has to improve. Players may notice that objects in Super Mario Wii rotate and tilt to add brand new challenges.

Furthermore, the Super Mario Wii does an excellent job of facing today’s new levels of technologies. Remember struggling with your little Mario on the same levels? You may have died endlessly, but that is a worry of the past. With Super Mario Wii, the multi-player features will excite even the most stubborn of Mario Bros players. With Super Mario Wii, at any time, on any level, 2-3 players can step in to help you make it through the level (s). No matter what the level of a Super Mario Wii player, they can still jump in and help. Remember the “fights” you used to have using the original Mario Bros? Super Mario Wii didn’t forget about that. There’s a coin collecting competition where multi-players can compete against one another. However, the Super Mario Wii is only designed for local multi-players, there is no online connection available for Super Mario Wii.

Gone are the days of struggling through a level and not being able to find a solution. Super Mario Wii offers a “Super Guide” level where players can watch a video of how a level should be played before giving it a go. Additionally, Super Mario Wii also shows videos of secret areas and special bonus opportunities. Even better, it seems that Super Mario Wii does an excellent job of combining all of the “editions” of Mario Bros into one neat package. Although Super Mario Wii is lacking some technological advances such as internet connectivity, overall the game does a adequate job of bring back old scenery, familiar challenges, and the same ol’ excitement, while adding few new spins as well.

Super Mario Wii would be an excellent game for any Mario Bros enthusiast. Do not wait, go find your new Super Mario game today; experience the new Super Mario Wiii for yourself!
